Once the eBay Order is imported, M2E Pro can create the Magento Order based on the Account settings. The tax calculation for such Magento Orders depends on the Tax Source set in the Account.

See the examples below to find out the logic of Tax calculation depending on different settings in Magento and M2E Pro.

Example 1. Tax Source None

In Account, the Tax Source is set to None.

An Item is listed via M2E Pro with Price of 100$

The Magento Order does not have any Tax amount for this Item.

Note, if the Tax source set to None all the Tax settings will be ignored (as eBay Tax settings as Magento Tax Setting). The Order will not contain any Tax amount.

Example 2. Tax Source eBay, VAT is not adding to the Price

In Account, Tax Source is set to eBay.

In the Selling Policy, the VAT Rate is set to 10%. The Add VAT% on top of Price option is set to No.

The Product in Magento has Price of 100$.

It was Listed on eBay via M2E Pro with Price 100$.

The eBay order has 10% of the Tax amount.

The Magento Order has 10% of the Tax Amount too.

Example 3. Tax Source eBay, VAT is adding to the Price

In Account Tax Source is set to eBay.

In Selling Policy, the VAT Rate is set to 10%. The Add VAT% on top of Price option is set to Yes.

The Product in Magento has Price 100$.

It was Listed on eBay via M2E Pro with Price 110$ because the 10% of VAT was added.

The eBay order has a 10% Tax amount

The Magento Order has 10% of Tax Amount too.

Example 4. Tax Source Magento, VAT is adding to the Price

In Account Tax Source is set to Magento.

In the Selling Policy the VAT Rate, % is set to 10%. The Add VAT% on top of Price option is set to Yes.

The Product in Magento has Price of 100$.

It was Listed on eBay via M2E Pro with a Price of $110 because the 10% of VAT was added.

The eBay order has a 10% Tax amount

The Magento Order has 0% of Tax amount because the Magento Order creates based on the Tax Source specified in Account setting - Magento, but in Magento settings, there is no appropriate Tax Rule.

Example 5. Tax Source Magento, Tax Rule is added, Excluding Price is set

In Account Tax Source is set to Magento.

In System > Configuration > Sales > Tax it set to show Catalog Price Excluding Tax

The Product has a Taxable Goods Product Tax Class

Tax Rule contains Not Logged In Customer Tax Class, Taxable Goods Product Tax Class, and +20 % for Spain Tax Zone/Rate.

The Product in Magento has Price of 100$.

It is listed on eBay with Price 100$.

The eBay Order does not contain Tax

The Magento Order contains 20% of the Tax amount

Example 6. Tax Source Magento, Tax Rule is added, Including Price is set
