Amazon Product Types refer to specific categories of products on Amazon, such as "Books," "Electronics," or "Clothing." Properly categorizing your products can help customers find them more easily and improve your chances of making sales on Amazon.

In this guide, we will walk you through the steps for managing Amazon Product Types using M2E Pro.

Watch our short video tutorial on managing Amazon Product Types.

Create Amazon Product Type

  1. Go to Amazon Integration > Configuration > Product Types.

  2. Click Add Product Type and select the Marketplace you want to use it for.

  3. In the pop-up, select the Product Type and click Confirm. You can find the relevant Product Type by keywords in the Search tab or go to the Browse tab and pick it directly from the list.

  4. Assign Product Specifics using Magento Attributes or enter them manually.

  5. Save the settings.

General Product Type in M2E Pro is the default Product Type used by Amazon to create an Offer for a product.

General Product Type includes only the essential Product Specifics required by Amazon and cannot be used in M2E Pro to create new ASINs.

Assign Amazon Product Type to the items

  1. Go to Amazon Integration > M2E Pro > Listings.

  2. Open the Listing and switch to the Setting View Mode.

  3. Select the Products you would like to update.

  4. In the Actions menu select Assign Product Type.

  5. In the pop-up click Assign next to the proper Product Type.

  6. Confirm your choice to save the settings.

That’s it! After saving, M2E Pro will update your product according to the Sync Policy in use.

Also, you can assign Product Types to your M2E Pro Listings using Auto Add/Remove rules.
