Item Duplicates Prevention Tool

According to the eBay Duplicate listings policy, two or more Items will be considered duplicates if there is not much difference between them. eBay does not allow listing the Items that have the same Product Identifiers, Titles, Descriptions, etc.

Sometimes, the Item duplicate issue may arise due to technical reasons. For example, the temporary limitations on the eBay side or a network connection failure can cause the following. After the List/Relist action is submitted to the Channel via M2E Pro, the Module does not get a confirmation from eBay that the operation is completed successfully. In this case, the next automatic synchronization will try to list/relist the Item again. But eBay will consider this attempt as Item duplicate listing and may apply the restrictions to your seller account.

To prevent this issue, M2E Pro has developed a special Tool. It detects the potential duplicates during the Item List/Relist.

Tip

You can enable/disable the Item Duplicates Prevention Tool under eBay > Configuration > General > Selling.

When the Item duplicate is detected, the listing process is interrupted. The Product remains Not Listed. You will see the “Duplicate” mark and notification next to it.

Note

In case you try listing an item manually on eBay, M2E Pro may not detect its duplicate and the item will still be listed. However, if you attempt to list an item automatically and its duplicate is detected, the item will not be listed.

In your M2E Pro Listing, click Duplicate and you will see a pop-up. There you can select one of the possible solutions:

  • Ignore this message for the Item {eBay Item ID} - the Item data will be sent to eBay during the next sync to check whether the issue remains.
  • Stop Item {eBay Item ID} on eBay - the related Channel Item will be automatically stopped on eBay, while this Item will be listed once the List Rules are met.
  • Stop Item {eBay Item ID} on eBay and list/relist the current Item - the related Channel Item will be automatically stopped on eBay, while this Item will be listed/relisted immediately.

Tip

As an alternative solution, you can import the existing eBay Item to M2E Pro. The Unmanaged Listings feature allows managing eBay Items via the Extension and preserving its sales history on the Channel.

Note that the Not Listed product (i.e. detected duplicate) should be deleted from M2E Pro Listing later on.

You can use the Duplicates filter option to display the Listing Products that are marked as duplicates:
